Pesquisa Básica e Plausibilidade Biológica (mechanisms research)

Este tipo de pesquisa, também conhecida como estudo pré-clínico, é desenvolvida para levantar hipóteses e responder perguntas sobre os possíveis mecanismos de ação envolvidos nos efeitos analgésicos, anti-inflamatórios, dentre outros,  dos métodos e recursos terapêuticos. Ou seja, busca encontrar explicações e uma sustentação teórica sobre a plausibilidade biológica das intervenções em saúde. Apresentamos abaixo alguns dos principais estudos que incluem pesquisas comportamentais e de neuroimagem em humanos, bem como pesquisas moleculares, celulares e fisiológicas em modelos animais.
